Pendulum swings, inertia hammers, and hovercrafts! Mister C is no stranger to finding exciting and engaging ways to explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) in our everyday lives. Full STEAM Ahead Live Vol. 2 鈥 The World in Motion invites attendees to continue singing, moving, and learning to the tune of science and focuses on the Laws of Motion!  Students and teachers will be amazed with this fun and educational series as Mister C uses humor, media and the engineering design process to make the ordinary extraordinary!

Grade 3 鈥 English Language Arts: Speaking and Listening
Standard SL.3.1: 鈥淓ngage effectively in collaborative discussions with diverse partners about grade-level topics and texts.鈥

Grade 4 鈥 Mathematics: Measurement and Data
Standard 4.MD.A.1: 鈥淜now relative sizes of measurement units and apply measurement concepts to solve problems.鈥

Grade 5 鈥 English Language Arts: Informational Text
Standard RI.5.3: 鈥淓xplain relationships or interactions between individuals, events, ideas, or concepts in a scientific text.鈥

Grades 6鈥8 鈥 Drama/Theatre: Connecting
Standard TH.Cn.11.1.7.a: 鈥淓xplore how drama/theatre connects to history, science, and other disciplines.鈥

Through the Ohio Arts Council鈥檚 Big Yellow School Bus program, applicants may request up to $500. No match is required. Big Yellow School Bus grantees generally receive their full request. Eligible organizations include鈥攂ut are not limited to鈥攑ublic, private, charter, or parochial schools (pre-kindergarten through secondary) and associations of home-schooled students. Multiple applications from a single school or district are permissible within a single fiscal year. All applicants must possess nonprofit status or nonprofit intent.

Typical Grant Timeline:

  • Application Deadline: At least 8 weeks prior to event
  • Grant Award Announcement: 4-5 weeks prior to the event
  • Grant Agreement Signed in ARTIE: At least 2 weeks prior to event
  • Final Report Deadline: 30 days following event
  • Payment issued: 3-6 weeks following Final Report Submission
