Create a Digital ID

  1. Identify the signature field in the form you want to sign and click it.
     
  2. On the 鈥淪ign with a Digital ID鈥 box that pops-up, click 鈥淐onfigure New Digital ID鈥.
     
  3. Select, what should be the last option, 鈥淐reate a new Digital ID鈥, and then click the 鈥淐ontinue鈥 button.
     
  4. Select 鈥淪ave to File鈥 and then click the 鈥淐ontinue鈥 button.
     
  5. On the 鈥淐reate a self-signed Digital ID鈥 screen, update the following fields as noted below and then click the 鈥淐ontinue鈥 button.
    1. Name: Your first and last name
    2. Organizational Unit: Leave this blank
    3. Organization Name: Leave this blank
    4. Email Address: Your Kent.edu email address
    5. Country/Region: This should default to 鈥淯S 鈥 United States鈥 and this is the appropriate option to select for signing US documents
    6. Key Algorithm: This should default to 鈥2048-bit RSA鈥 鈥 leave this setting as is
    7. Use Digital ID for: This should default to 鈥淒igital Signatures鈥 鈥 leave this setting as is
       
  6. On the 鈥淪ave the self-signed Digital ID to a file鈥 screen, leave the default location setting and then enter a password you are sure to remember. This password secures your digital signature file and is required to be entered when signing documents.
     
  7. You may now 鈥淴鈥 out of this window as your Digital ID has been created and saved.
