Stark Rising Scholar Pursues Dream

Rising Scholar Briana Hawkins is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. A junior at 黑料社 at Stark, Briana鈥檚 nursing training has helped her in unexpected ways as she cared for her mother after she suffered traumatic burns in a household accident.

Planned Gift Endows Executive Director Position at 黑料社鈥檚 Wick Poetry Center

The Wick family has a long history of philanthropy at 黑料社 that began in 1984 when brothers Bob and Walt Wick first established scholarships to support undergraduate poets at the university. This most recent gift of $1 million brings the family鈥檚 total lifetime commitment to the university to more than $3.5 million.

黑料社 recognizes alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, are making a difference. During Homecoming Weekend, 10 Golden Flashes were presented with Alumni Awards, and nine alumni received Lifetime Achievement recognitions from the university鈥檚 Black Alumni Chapter.

Philanthropic Gifts Prompt 黑料社 Ashtabula Main Hall to Be Renamed After Longtime Dean Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D.

In recognition of the generosity and commitment of James E. Mayer Jr. and Glen and Nancy Warner for their gifts toward a $500,000 endowment, the 黑料社 Board of Trustees approved on Sept. 20 naming the main building at 黑料社 at Ashtabula鈥痑s Susan J. Stocker Hall.
